Introduction to Lesson Planning

Module Description

One of the vital skills a new and even existing teacher needs to master is to design appropriate lesson plans suited to lesson objectives. In this module teachers will be able to understand the concept and content of an Inquiry-based lesson structure (5Es lesson plan) and a I do, You do and We do lesson structure. This module will equip teachers to be able to identify when to use an Inquiry-based lesson (5Es lesson plan) and a I do, You do and We do detailed lesson plans.

Module Objectives

By the end of this module the teachers will be able to do the following:

Teachers will be introduced to fundamentals of lesson planning.
Teachers will be able to understand the concept and content of an Inquiry-based lesson structure (5Es lesson plan) and a I do, You do and We do lesson structure and when to use it
Teachers will be able to plan a basic lesson structure from their unit plan outlining the lesson objective, opening, possible misconceptions and one earner practice activity.
