Creating STEAM Opportunities for Girls

Module Description

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths (STEAM) subjects are a new focus for many schools, however, despite great strides, most schools do not have gender parity in STEAM subjects. To reach gender parity it is important for schools to take steps both in and out of the classroom to encourage girls in STEAM subjects. This includes supporting teachers’ understanding of STEAM bias, and key STEAM skills, and also creating additional opportunities for girls to engage with STEAM activities.

Module Objectives

Teachers and school leaders will identify personal and school-wide techniques to encourage girls in STEAM thinking, participation, and activities.
