Closing A Lesson

Module Description

Closing a Lesson will empower teachers to end their lessons with a focus on cementing student learning. Research consistently shows that students often remember what happened in the beginning and the end of lessons. By closing lessons effectively, teachers will be more intentional with what they do with students so that the student has time to reflect on learning, summarise what they have learned and preview where they will be going next as a class.

Module Objectives

  • Teachers will be able to plan a lesson closing by providing opportunities for students to reflect on the learning, summarise key learning, and preview next steps.
  • Teachers will be able to understand the importance of serial effect, primacy effect, and recency effect on student memory and learning
